Not every subject needs a full day – but some deserve more than an hour. The Masterclass Series provides focused, interactive 3–4 hour learning sessions that sit between our larger education programmes and shorter educational updates. Each Masterclass concentrates on a defined area of clinical practice, allowing enough time to revisit essential knowledge, explore the evidence, work through clinical cases and, where appropriate, practise the skills that translate learning into practice. 

The shorter, focused format reduces cognitive overload while allowing participants to concentrate deeply on one subject, supporting better engagement, reflection and retention. It also makes continuing professional development easier to incorporate around shift work, professional responsibilities and life outside healthcare. Masterclasses provide opportunities for clinicians to regularly revisit, refresh and extend their knowledge rather than relying solely on occasional full-day programmes — supporting the principle that professional development should be continuous, relevant and connected to clinical practice.
